Lake Louise parking basics

• Paid lakeshore parking is separate from national park admission and can fill early during peak periods.
• If you are in an RV or oversized vehicle, default to Park and Ride or a shuttle plan instead of aiming at the lakeshore lot.

• Parks Canada says oversized private vehicles, including RVs, are not permitted in public lots at Lake Louise Lakeshore.
• Oversized means exceeding one of the posted dimensions for length, width, or height. Many camper vans and motorhomes will qualify.
• Limited oversized parking may be available at Fairview, about 1.5 km from the lakeshore, but it is not a casual backup you should bet the day on.

• Parks Canada shuttles use the Lake Louise Park and Ride at the ski resort.
• For RV visitors, shuttle reservations can be less stressful than trying to solve lake parking after arrival.
• Build food, washrooms, and return timing around the shuttle window before adding more stops.

• Park admission or the Canada Strong Pass window is one decision.
• Lake Louise parking fees are another decision.
• Shuttle seats, Roam fares, private tours, and campground reservations are separate again.

• Car, early start, flexible day: parking might work if you check current rules first.
• RV, late start, family group, or fixed lake plan: book transport first and let the parking lot be someone else's problem.
• If parking is the thing your whole day depends on, the plan is too fragile.
